What Happens On Move-In Day?
Congratulations! It’s time to take possession of the keys to your brand new Stannard Family Home.
It’s the day of handover and you arrive at the place you can now call home, the place you have spent months building, and years dreaming about…
You walk in the front door to your new home and can instantly smell the fresh paint scent and crisp air from the professional clean that has just taken place.
Your kids are running through the house trying to find their rooms, lying on the carpet with their legs in the air with excitement.
The day is finally here, all of the logistics associated with building a new home have been finalised and now it’s time for you to sit back and enjoy your brand new home.
Handover day isn’t a time to discuss defects or inspections. Everything that needed to be modified before you moved in has been taken care of at the pre-handover meeting and now is the time to simply celebrate the completion of your new home.
So, what do you need to know about the handover process with Stannard Family Homes and what can you really expect on the day?
Let me share our process with you to get you excited about finishing your home and finally taking possession of the keys.
What To Expect For Your Handover
Firstly, when you arrive at your new home, I will be there to greet you at the door, along with the supervisors, project coordinators, interior designers and even the team of custom home specialists who worked on your build.
Our clients love to bring along their family, including grandparents, aunties and uncles and family friends, to meet the team at Stannard Family Homes, who turned their dreams into a reality.
The team at Stannard Family Homes will have arranged a beautiful cheese platter, bottle of MOET champagne and case of Coronas for you and your loved ones to enjoy on this incredibly special day.
Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? But at Stannard Family Homes, this is our standard procedure for the handover of the keys to your new home, and it’s what excites our team the most about building your custom home.
Unfortunately though, not all builders apply the same level of care and detail throughout this part of the process.
Volume builders will ask you to come to their office and collect the keys to your new home directly from them… in a paper folder.
You’ve just made the biggest investment of your life and yet you would get better service from a supermarket clerk.
Back to handover day at your new Stannard Family Home, after you have had some brie and champagne with your family and our team, it's time to have a proper orientation of your brand new home.
Your Dream Home, Now A Reality
You will be walked through the entire house, where the team will proudly show you all of the features you once dreamed of, that are now right there in front of you.
You will be shown how to change your alarm codes, how to use the air conditioner and be provided with a folder containing all of the manuals for your brand new appliances.
When you build with a volume builder and are expected to go and collect the keys from an office, you will arrive at your new house for the first time not knowing where anything is, and you definitely won’t be enjoying champagne with their team...
At Stannard Family Homes, every client is valued.
Our entire team loves providing an exciting celebration and experience at handover, it's one of the ways we show our appreciation for being able to build their dream home.
It’s easy to get caught up in all of the planning and stages that have to occur before your home is finalised and you’re ready to take possession of your keys…
But when you finally arrive at the handover of your brand new home, are greeted by your building team and offered the grand tour accompanied by champagne and nibbles, you suddenly remember why it was all worth it.
Designing a new home can be very overwhelming and when you hear new things for the first time, it's not easy to remember everything.
